This young girl went by the name of Kiara Retherston, was intelligent for a two year old and liked to be alone. Or, at least, that's what the note that lay nearby said. The note also confirmed that Lily Phan would be best to look after her, as she was a caring nineteen year-old who wasn't interested in a man or marriage but was naturally a nurturing, friendly woman while Kiara's parents were known to be abusive and addicted to alcohol and drugs. Lily was also young, but Kiara's mom was in her early forties and her dad much older than that.
So, being the good person she is, Lily took Kiara into her own hands. Lily had a little brother who unfortunately died at the very young age of five, but she was still very much responsible for his welfare. She taught him how to walk and talk, fed him, clothed him, changed his diaper and gave him many toys. However, it said on the note that Kiara liked time alone, while her late brother always had to be the centre of attention.
Still, Lily gave Kiara enough love and affection, and took her into her apartment without any fuss, for Kiara was a quiet baby who only cried when something was wrong.
Still, Lily had a career as a chef, and so the sprog had to be looked after by a babysitter for that career took up a lot of Lily's time. It was lucky that Kiara was a fast learner and was able to go to the potty and talk within a couple of days. Learning how to walk took a little longer, but it was all done in good time.
I tried to make an Asian Sim, and I really liked the way Lily looked :D
As a child, Kiara's hair grew long and was as blonde as ever, so it looked strange to people as Lily and Kiara walked down the streets because they looked nothing like each other. Kiara enjoyed playing video games as a youngster, with her imaginary (and one of two) friend(s) and, of course, Lily. As Lily wasn't really her mother, she felt relaxed enough to let Kiara do what she liked, but the fact that she was a good, clever child helped somewhat with that fact. She always got straight As and, while she was a little mischievous sometimes, she was just being a kid really.
I'd make her imaginary friend real, but as it's in Bridgeport it's very difficult to go through dustbins to find a rainbow gem. Is there any other way to find one? If so, could you tell me what it is please? Thanks.
As Lily was a chef, she'd get into a routine of going home, cooking food such as fish and chips, ratatouille, and spaghetti (she was only at level four cooking skill at this point), eating some and putting the rest in the fridge so Kiara could warm up the food and eat it for breakfast. Kiara was very independant actually, and could easily work an oven on her own.
I took this picture for no other reason than the fact that I really love her pyjamas! Aren't they awesome?
On her visits to the park, she would play chess, go into the tree house, go on the waterslide (I love Generations so much) and meet Sims. This is Beth Marx aka Skip45, heavily pregnant with Pax Ashdown's (Melodicspike21/Ham) baby. Thankfully Beth was lovely enough to let Kiara feel her baby bump so she could know her well enough to visit the baby after it had been born.
She also found a Frank Iero in questionable shorts and sunglasses and no tattoos on a waterslide.
Here is your baby, Ham and Skip! His name is Sem and he is evil and a virtuoso. I think he'd make quite a good rock star!
On the whole, Kiara was happy. She was clever, knew many people (even if they weren't her friends yet) and had two best friends. One is the imaginary friend, called Erica, and the other is a boy called Billy Lexington, who's the son of two Sims I made.
Still, while she had friends, Kiara felt incomplete. Despite Lily's efforts, and though Kiara loved Lily a lot, she still wasn't her mom. She wished she could meet her family.
When she grew into a (very pretty) teenager, Kiara died the tips of her hair purple, put on those hipster glasses with no lenses, and pierced her lip. She wore ankle boots and stylish dungarees (overalls) and that combined with her hair, piercing and glasses made her look pretty quirky. She gained the charismatic trait, so she had to stand out, right?
Meanwhile, Billy (who's very nice looking actually) remained her best friend. The two would spend hours together.
She also really liked movies. She wanted to be an actress so badly, and signed up for drama classes after school to boost her charisma and prepare her for becoming an actress. However, there was a small problem.
She was passionate about acting, but not the fame. She still liked time alone, and she wasn't too sure about the celebrity lifestyle. Would she really not get any privacy? Would people date her for money instead of love? She wished she could be an actress and not have all the hassle that comes with it, but in the end she decided that she'd never become one of those shallow people who cares only for fame and money. She'd stick true to herself, no matter what.
Meanwhile, Elouise (xRainbowx) had a baby with the hot guy I made for her, named Marco, and here she is! Her name is Jessica and she's a virtuoso and easily impressed.
Kiara had it all. She was gorgeous - you could tell she was going to be a beauty when she was older - and her new charisma skill made her lots of friends and even more acquaintances. She was always lovely as well - never mean to her friends (although she pulled pranks and stuff when she was on a mood swing) and she had a certain charm about her.
This made her popular. She was crowned Prom Queen for she was liked by everyone, despite her love of being alone (people just accepted that), and she'd got herself a date.
Yep, Billy asked her to the prom, kissed her and asked if she would be his girlfriend. He was lovely to her and hot (although his brother, Noble, is a looker as well) so I accepted, and now she has a boyfriend. (Most of the problems my Sims face aren't really relationship problems anyway. I find that gets boring after a while).
Her heart still ached for a family, but she ignored that particular nagging in her brain. She felt ungrateful that she still wanted something when she had everything else - great friends, an amazing boyfriend, good grades, and a substitute mom who loved her and trusted her.
They are cute though - this is Kiara and Billy gazing at the stars after a concert. I thought of Friends when I saw them looking at stars actually - it reminded me of when Rachel and Ross were in the Planetarium before they did it for the first time :)
Being a genius and charismatic, she learned quickly and made loads of friends, and Lily was progressing very well in her career and was a very good cook. Kiara ate well, and learned how to cook as well.
The final night in the small apartment she had grown up in, Lily made Kiara's favourite meal - ratatouille. "Thank you," Kiara said to Lily, before looking down at her plate of food. She didn't want to leave. Even though Lily was not related to her by blood, she felt like a mom anyway, and while she would still see her and be able to go out with all her friends and not have a curfew, it still felt like she was throwing away life as she knew it. The house she was moving into was pretty, and had lovely furniture, and she would hopefully be moving in with Billy soon, it still didn't look like her new house was going to ever become her home. It would never feel like where she grew up.
She knew she had to leave one day though.
"Goodbye Lily," Kiara had to stop herself fro crying. She wanted to pursue her acting career, of course, and she wanted to live with Billy very much, and she knew there was no room in this apartment to do that, but she was still terrified.
"Goodbye Kiara. You can still visit, of course, and it will all get clear and much better. Trust me. Love you," Lily said, pulling Kiara in for a hug.
Sparkles ensued. Here she is as a young adult...
Isn't she a beauty? I love her very much, she's gorgeous and quirky and awesome!
So, how will her new life plan out? Find out in chapter one, loverlies!
